Lachha Paratha

Hello All,

Today's recipe is dedicated to all my fun loving Punjabi friends.Parathas have been Punjabi's staple food and they just can't live without having it.Everybody who has it simply loves it and will ask for more! This weekend I had guests coming home and I wanted to make something unusual so I decided to make lachha parathas and seekh(will be posted in my next post😉).The parathas turned out to be too tasty like the one's we get on Punjabi dhabas. But the difference here was it was home made!
So do try the below parathas as they are a treat to your eyes and taste buds. You can even have it with tea in breakfast! Its really easy to make them and will hardly take much of your time and energy😋.

Ingredients:-

4 small bowls-Wheat flour
2 tbspn-All purpose flour(Maida)
1 tspn-Salt
1 cup-Milk
1 Glass-Water
Ghee(for Marination and cooking Parathas)

Method:-
  • First, we need to make dough for the paratha for which we take wheat flour, all purpose flour, salt and Milk in a big bowl.Use the glass of water for making dough(Make sure not to add much water as it will spoil the consistency of dough). The dough should be as it is made for making rotis.
  • Now, take small portions of dough and make a round chapati(not too thin) as shown below:

  • Marinate the chapati with some ghee and spread it all over the chapati.Sprinkle some wheat flour on marinated chapati(that makes it a little crispy)

  • Next,we need to cut the chapati vertically as shown below:

  • Now,start rolling from the two corners first and continue from any strip to make a round roll as shown below:

  • Press the roll from above to flatten the roll as shown below:

  • Now, the parathas are ready to be rolled, roll it like a chapati in round shape.
  • Heat a non stick pan and place the uncooked paratha on it.Cook it from one side and flip it other side.
  • Put some ghee on the other side and cook it again by flipping it until its golden brown as below:

Your laccha parathas are ready to be served with any curry or kebab you wish!!
